Connecting reporting services

I am trying to connect "SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio" for reporting sevices. I am not able to figure out my connection string. i have te database and the server name. The server is not on my desktop.

How do i solve this issue.

Not quite sure what you are trying to connect to. For RS you create a new RS project by going to File->New->Project->Business Intelligence Projects.|||

I am trying to produce a report through a "report server project".

|||I guess you are trying to figure out the connection string for a data source. If so you can use the edit button and select a few options to let BI studio construct a connection string for you.

Connecting Other Analysis Services present in N/w

I'am new to SQL Server Analysis Services. Currently i have downloaded "SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services" and also have SP4 on it. The help says its Version 8.00.2039.

The same environment has been setup in another machine also and now i'am trying to register the other machine in my Analysis Manager. While trying them it shows the following error

"Errors occurred while connecting to Mch-Name. ActiveX component can't create object. Do you still want to register this server "

Basically i want to connect to other machine and access the Cubes created in that machine.

Any help on this will be appreciated.

AS 2000 requires for you to open a share on the remote machine. Try and search for "MsOLAPRepository$", you should find quite a bit information about how to setup remote administration in AS2000.
